Memorial County Park along Pescadero Creek is a forested retreat not far from the coast. Many campsites in Memorial Park Campground are among the redwood trees and all sites are within easy walking distance of Pescadero Creek. A swimming hole there is popular in the summer. Groups of families from the area often plan annual vacations at Memorial Park.
Memorial Park Campground is divided into two areas on either side of the creek - Azalea Flat and Sequoia Flat. Large RVs and trailers have very limited choices of sites. There are also group sites, some of them designated for youth groups. Reservations for all campsites can be made for up a year in advance.
A seasonal camp store is located near the park entrance.
Hike the Mt. Ellen Nature Trail. Splash around in the Pescadero Creek swimming hole. Hike the old Pomponio Trail. Visit San Mateo coast attractions such as Ano Nuevo State Park.
