Lone Rock Campground

Lone Rock Campground is a boat-in, walk-in, or bike-in campground located on the southeastern side of Union Valley Reservoir in the Crystal Basin region of the Eldorado National Forest.

Access to Lone Rock Campground can be by foot or bike from either Jones Fork parking lot (0.3 miles) or Sunset Boat Launch Ramp (0.7 miles). The campground has only 5 sites on a point of land. There is a bike rack at the campground. A paved bike trail connects with many of the other facilities along the shore of the lake. Fishing is good from the campground's point.

No potable water is available at Lone Rock Campground. Amenities include vault toilets.

General Camping Information

When making reservations be sure that your vehicle will fit in the space indicated on the reservations website. Information is available at the Crystal Information Station east of Union Valley Reservoir on Ice House Road during the summer.
Horses and motor vehicles are not permitted on the bike trails at Union Valley Reservoir. Horses are permitted on the Ice House Reservoir bike trail.
For campground purposes, a vehicle is any equipment that is required to be licensed/registered. This includes RVs, trailers, cars/trucks, boat/car trailer, motorcycle/atv, etc. Vehicles parked in a truck or on a trailer are not counted separately.

  4. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings.
