Four Jeffrey Campground is located 1 mile up South Lake Road from its junction with Highway 168 in the Inyo National Forest. Four Jeffrey is a popular camping destination for those planning trips up to beautiful South Lake. Fishing and slow-speed boating are popular there. Hikers often set out on day trips from South Lake to explore the many scenic lakes and peaks in the area. Nearby Lake Sabrina is another popular side-trip from the campground.

Four Jeffrey Campground has 106 campsites scattered along the South Fork of Bishop Creek. Some of the nicest campsites are set among the trees close to the creek. A few sites are out in the open. Thirty-one of the campsites can be reserved ahead of time; the rest are left open as first-come, first-served campsites. Among the sites which can be reserved, 4 along the creek are designed for tents only. All the others can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. The maximum stay at the campground is 14 days.

Key Four Jeffrey Campground Regulations

  1. To avoid problems with bears campers are required to store food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
  2. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  3. Generators are allowed only during non-quiet hours; three-hour maximum run time and must be attended while running.
  4. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times. No more than 2 pets are allowed per campsite.
  5. Fires are only allowed in provided fire rings.

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests.
