Mountain Glen Campground

Mountain Glen Campground is located 3 miles up South Lake Road from its junction with Highway 168 in the Inyo National Forest.

This tiny, tent-only campground makes a nice base for trips up to beautiful South Lake. Fishing and slow-speed boating are popular there. Hikers often set out on day trips from South Lake to explore the many scenic lakes and peaks in the area.

Mountain Glen Campground has 5 tent-only campsites. Most of the sites are tucked in among aspen trees and rocks, providing ample privacy. There is no drinking water provided at the campground. The maximum stay at the campground is 7 days.

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests.

Key Mountain Glen Campground Regulations

  1. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  2. Generators may only be operated during non-quiet hours. There is a three-hour maximum run time and generators must be attended while running.
  3. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. No more than 2 pets are permitted per campsite.
  4. Fires are only allowed in provided fire rings. Collect only down and dead firewood.
  5. Avoid problems with bears by storing food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
