Palisade Group Campground

Palisade Group Campground is along Rock Creek Road, 6 miles west of Highway 395 at Tom's Place. Campers at Palisade Group Campground are only 3 miles from scenic Rock Creek Lake with opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating. Rock Creek Lake has a 5 MPH speed limit. A nice day-use area with a beach is located on the southeastern side of the lake. Several miles farther up the road are popular trails for day hikes into Little Lakes Valley.

Palisade Group Campground has a single camping area which can accommodate up to 25 people and 5 vehicles. Once a family camp, Palisade has been converted to am overlfow group camp. As a result the group site is composed of a cluster of individual sites and has no central cooking area. The campground is best suited for tents since parking space is limited next to the campsites. There is, however, ample parking in a large, open area adjacent to the campground. The maximum length of stay here is 7 days.
