Willow Campground

Willow Campground is 5½ miles up South Lake Road from its junction with Highway 168 in the Inyo National Forest. The little tent-only campground makes a quiet retreat for those who favor a some privacy.

Willow Campground is only 1½ miles from beautiful South Lake, which is known for its excellent fishing. Hikers set out from South Lake, finding a number of scenic lakes only a few miles up the trail.

Willow Campground has 8 tent-only campsites. Most of the sites are tucked in among aspen trees and rocks, providing ample privacy. There is no drinking water provided at the campground. The maximum stay at the campground is 7 days.

Key Willow Campground Regulations

  1. To avoid bear problems, store food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
  2. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  3. RVs and trailers are not allowed in the campground.
  4. Dogs must be always kept on leash and always attended. No more than 2 pets are allowed per campsite.
  5. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings. Collect only down and dead firewood.

General Camping Information

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
