Hidden Horse Campground

Hidden Horse Campground is along a fork of the Salmon River in the Klamath National Forest. The campground is 14 miles west of the small community of Callahan on Highway 3, north of Trinity Lake. The campground is designed for those with horses. Campers enjoy setting out on horseback from trailheads near the campground. Riders can make a loop that includes Long Gulch Lake and Trail Gulch Lake or take the Pacific Crest Trail and connect to trails to Hidden Lakes or South Forks Lakes.

Hidden Horse Campground has 6 campsites, each with a 12-foot by 12-foot corral stalls. Sites are suitable for RVs, trailers, and tents. Each campsite can only accommodate one horse trailer. Equestrians find a manure bin, along with some muck buckets. With no water troughs at the corrals, water must be brought to the horses in buckets.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.
