Sly Creek Campground

Sly Creek Campground is at the western end of Sly Creek Reservoir in the Plumas National Forest. The campground is operated by South Feather Water & Power. The reservoir is known for its sparkling, turquoise water. Visitors enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing. Paddlers in kayaks and canoes are especially drawn to this lake. There is a 5 MPH speed limit on the Strawberry branch of the reservoir.

Sly Creek Campground has 25 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. All sites are first-come, first served. Many sites have lake views.

Located in the northern Sierra Nevada, just south of the Cascade Range, uncrowded Plumas National Forest is filled with wonderful places to visit and things to do. Campers at Sly Creek Campground are close to many of the attractions in the National Forest.

  • Take advantage of the Sly Creek Reservoir boat launch ramp.
  • Enjoy boating, water skiing, and fishing on Little Grass Valley Reservoir.
  • Hike or horseback ride on the Pacific Crest Trail or the 13-mile Lakeshore Trail around Little Grass Valley Reservoir (mountain bikers can use the Lakeshore Trail).
  • Set out onto the clear waters of Lake Oroville for water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, cruising, wake boarding, and swimming..

Key Sly Creek Campground Regulations

  1. There is a limit of 1 wheeled camper and 2 tents per camp pad.
  2. Avoid problems with bears by storing food and similar items in bear-proof lockers.
  3. Confine campfires to the provided fire pits.
  4. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  5. Obtain firewood locally to avoid bringing in pests.
