Spanish Creek Campground

Spanish Creek Campground is located in the Plumas National Forest, 8 miles north of Quincy. The campground loops are on a crook in Spanish Creek. A half mile downstream Spanish Creek empties into the North Fork of the Feather River. Visitors to the campground enjoy a nearby swimming hole on hot days (no lifeguard on duty) and fishing for rainbow trout in the creek and river.

Spanish Creek Campground has 21 sites, all of which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Some of the sites are located on an upper loop a short distance from the creek, others are along the creek. A day-use area is part of the campground adjacent to the swimming hole.

Spanish Creek Campground offers 3 group campsites located off the main campground road near Highway 70. Each site can accommodate up to 25 people and 6 vehicles. Reservations for group sites can be made from 4 days up to 12 months in advance of arrival date.

General Camping Information

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the reservation site when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Located in the northern Sierra Nevada, the scenic Plumas National Forest is filled with wonderful places to visit and things to do.

  • Hike up the Cascades Trail along Spanish Creek to the Cascade waterfalls, viewed from 2 wooden bridges.
  • Visit the Feather River Hot Springs. Make advance reservations.
  • Visit Black Mountain lookout for great views of Honey Lake and surrounding country.
  • Spend some days at Little Grass Valley Recreation Area and enjoy boating, waterskiing, sailing, and fishing.
  • Take a scenic drive through the Indian Valley Area north of Quincy.
  • Hike in the Bucks Lake Wilderness.
  • Explore the magnificent Backcountry Discovery Trail, 150 miles of roads through the Plumas National Forest, acessible to high clearance vehicles and 4-wheel SUVs.
  • Fish in Lake Davis, Antelope Lake, and round Valley Reservoir.
  • Head out for some OHV excitement at Bucks Lake Recreation Area or Gold Lake.
  • Take your boat out to Lake Davis, Antelope Lake, or Lower Bucks Lake.
