Emma Wood State Beach Campground

Emma Wood State Beach Campground includes North Beach Campground off Highway 101 in Ventura. The North Beach Campground features oceanfront sites along State Beach Access Road. Camping is limited to self-contained RVs or trailers (no tents). There are few amenities other than portable toilets and rocks formed into campfire circles, but the views are spectacular - unobstructed oceanfront camping. The North Beach Campground has 86 sites in two areas along the beach. Railroad tracks pass behind the campground, but most visitors don't mind the occasional train.

Emma Wood State Beach Campground also has a Hike & Bike Site, Enroute camping, and a Ventura River Group Camps.

The Enroute site is for self-contained RVs or trailers arriving late in the day. Occupants of these sites must vacate them by 9:00 AM the following morning.

Ventura River Group Campground

The Ventura River Group Campground has four group tent sites. Each site can accommodate between 9 and 30 people along with 5 vehicles. These are walk-in sites, although the walk is short. Amenities include campfire rings, tables, piped water, restrooms, and cold water showers. There is also a Group RV Site which can hold up to 20 self-contained RVs or trailers. This site can accommodate up to 50 people. Reservations are required for these sites.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
