Big Meadow Campground is along Big Meadows Road, about 5 miles off the General's Highway between Sequoia National Park and Grant Grove.
Big Meadow and Beyond
Campers in Big Meadow with horses have access to the nearby Horse Corral Pack Station. Several trailheads provide access to popular wilderness areas including Jennie Lakes, Monarch and National Park wilderness destinations.
Beautiful Hume Lake is only 15 miles away. Also nearby is Buck Rock Lookout, perched atop a craggy rock at an elevation of 8,500 feet (check their website for visiting hours).
Big Meadow Campground
Big Meadow Campground campsites are available for RV camping and tent camping. The campground's 43 campsites are divided into 5 small camping units spread out along Big Meadows Creek. Among those, 8 sites are designated for tents only.
Each of the units has a vault toilet and information boards. Take note that there is no potable water available, so campers will need to bring their own supply. Those with RVs or trailers longer than 22 feet must use the Highway 180 approach to the parks. The campsites are in pretty settings surrounded by lodgepole pines, Jeffery pines and red fir near Big Meadow Creek.
