Princess Campground
Princess Campground is tucked back among the trees along Highway 180 in Indian Basin Grove, 3 miles northwest of Hume Lake and 6 miles from Kings Canyon's Grant Grove.
Princess Campground Area Attractions
Those staying at Princess Campground are close to beautiful Hume Lake with opportunities for picnicking, fishing, non-motorized boating, and swimming. The 2.6-mile Hume Lake Loop trail features benches and interpretive signs.
A hiking trail beginning near the campground makes a 3-mile loop through the Indian Basin Grove of giant Sequoias. The Indian Basin Grove Interpretive Trail has an accessible, paved half-mile loop, and an additional half-mile extension loop through the grove and meadow area.
Princess Campground
Princess Campground features 90 campsites for RV camping and/or tent camping. Driveway surfaces are gravel. Campsites are arranged in three loops: Shining Cloud, Yellow Moon, and Morning Star. Double sites and tent-only sites are available. The tent-only sites are dispersed around the loops. The campground is among huge old Sequoia stumps, many second-growth Sequoias, and a mixture of other conifers.
Some campsites have distant views of Hume Lake. Princess Campground has docent guided hikes and campfire talks during the summer. Vehicles over 22 feet long should enter the parks via Highway 180.

General Camping Information for
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
