Silver Strand State Beach Campground
Silver Strand State Beach Campground is a great location along the San Diego coast to enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Pacific and still be close to all the attractions of San Diego.
Swimming, surfing, boating, water-skiing, volleyball, and picnicking are popular activities at Silver Strand.
Directly across the highway from the beach on San Diego Bay are the Mission Bay Aquatic Center providing instruction in surfing, sailing, and many other water sports. Just south of Silver Strand Beach is Southwestern College's Crown Cove Aquatic Center with facilities on Mission Bay and on the ocean side of Highway 75. Crown Cove offers lessons in activities such as paddling, sailing, and surfing, plus safe boating education.
Silver Strand State Beach Campground is limited to self-contained RVs or trailers. RVs or trailers must have a running water system and flushable toilet with holding tank or a manufactured self-contained toilet system. No tent camping is allowed. The sites are arranged side-by-side in long rows. Reservations are strongly recommended. The campground gate closes at night at varying times depending on the season, usually between 7 and 9 PM.
