Lake McCumber Campground is a quiet, little campground 40 miles east of Redding. Bypassed by many who are headed for nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park, Lake McCumber makes a relaxing retreat for families and anglers. The quarter-mile-long lake is open to non-motorized boating such as kayaks and canoes. (Lake McCumber is sometimes called MacCumber Reservoir.)
Lake McCumber Campground has 13 campsites. Eight of the sites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents, while the other 5 are walk-in sites for tent camping. Oaks provide ample shade at most sites. Campsites can be reserved.
