Snowflower RV Resort Campground is a short drive off Interstate 80 at Yuba Gap, on the western side of Donner Summit. The resort is spread through the forest near Snowflower Lake. Popular activities are fishing, swimming, kayaking, bicycling, and hiking. Resort amenities include a clubhouse, swimming pool, boat docks, marina, laundry, playground, tennis courts, pickleball and much more. Only non-motorized boats are permitted on the lake. The resort is part of Thousand Trails, but campers do not need to be Thousand Trails members to stay here.

Snowflower RV Resort Campground offers a range of camping choices from RV and trailer sites to tent camping and yurts. Reservations can be made, but specific campsites are selected upon arrival. The resort also offers cabins and cottages. RV and trailer sites have water and electric hook-ups. Sites in Tahoe and Sierra are on the hillside, some with magnificent views and many offering more seclusion than those closer to the lake. Sites at The Cliffs are on pavement and are arranged in rows. All tent sites have electric hook-ups and some have picnic tables. Very small trailers are permitted in the tent area.

Yurts sleep 4 or 5 on bunks, cots, or one queen mattress. They do not include bathrooms, linens, or cooking facilities. Cottages and Cabins sleep 4 to 6 people and include bathrooms, kitchenettes, and satellite TV.

With easy access to Interstate 80, many nearby attractions are only a little more than an hour away.

  • Drive down Highway 20 to historic Nevada City and Grass Valley. Tour the Empire Mine State Park.
  • North shore Lake Tahoe.
  • Donner Lake with fishing, boating, water skiing, historic sites. Tour Donner Memorial State Park.
  • Visit Truckee for great shopping, restaurants, historic sites, and more: Truckee
  • Head to Reno for casinos, shopping, and restaurants.
  • Take the family to Boomtown, Nevada (just across the state line): Family Fun Center, restaurants, Cabelas, Boomtown Casino.

Key Snowflower RV Resort Campground Regulations

  1. Bears: Food and scented items should be stored in locked cars or bear-proof lockers when available.
  2. Campfires are not permitted, including charcoal BBQs ad gas fire pits. Gas BBQ grills are allowed for cooking only. Propane fire pits are allowed and are available for rent.
  3. $75 per person/per night surcharge for any additional person(s) in a rental over the maximum allowed.
  4. Dogs must be on leash in the campground and attended at all times.
  5. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No generator operation during quiet hours.
