Wilderness Camping

For backpackers there are a variety of wilderness camps around Mount San Jacinto State Park. These campgrounds are located at Round Valley, Tamarack Valley, Little Round Valley, and Strawberry Junction. Permits are required for their use: (951) 659-2117. On summer weekends these campgrounds fill to capacity four or more weeks in advance. Campers should plan ahead to avoid being turned away on these weekends.
