Lassen Volcanic National Park Programs

During the year, Lassen Volcanic National Park offers a variety of programs. Among them are guided hikes, campfire presentations, astronomy activities, and Junior Rangers. Dates and times change from year to year. Check their current calendar to see what programs are coming up: Lassen Calendar.

Summer Field Seminars are offered each year in the park. Examples of the seminars offered are Nature Photography, Watercolor Plein Air Workshop, and Warner Valley Guided Hikes. There are fees for the seminars. Read details at Lassen Field Seminars.

Lassen National Forest Campgrounds

The campgrounds scattered through the southern region of Lassen National Forest tend to be small, quiet retreats, usually located along great trout fishing steams. Amenities are not fancy, but good enough to make camping an enjoyable experience.

The campgrounds are situated between Lake Almanor to the east and Lassen Volcanic National Park to the north. Day trips to either the lake and the park take less than an hour. At Lassen are all its volcanic wonders, scenic hiking trails, and sparkling mountain lakes. At nearby Lake Almanor visitors enjoy boating, waterskiing, fishing, and hiking.
